Ask Me Anything!

Beyond Food Freedom is for people who are ready to stop letting an eating disorder dictate the size of their lives.
Maybe you're in recovery but feel stuck.
Maybe you've completed treatment but still hear the eating disorder voice every day.
Maybe you spend far too much time thinking about food, calories, exercise, weight, or your body.
Maybe you look "fine" on the outside while feeling completely consumed on the inside.
Or maybe you don't even know if what you're experiencing qualifies as an eating disorder. You just know that your relationship with food and your body is taking more from you than you're willing to give.
You don't have to be at your worst to deserve support.
-
Whatever is standing between you and the life you want.
That might include:
Challenging food rules and eating disorder thoughts
Fear foods and increasing flexibility
Body image
Compulsive exercise and movement
Perfectionism
All-or-nothing thinking
Eating in restaurants or social situations
Navigating vacations, holidays, and travel
Coping with triggers
Building trust with yourself
Separating your authentic voice from the eating disorder voice
Rebuilding your identity outside of the eating disorder
Learning to tolerate discomfort without returning to old behaviors
Reconnecting with relationships, experiences, goals, and joy
The goal isn't to spend the rest of your life "working on recovery."

Eating disorder recovery often benefits from a team approach.
Coaching can complement the work you're already doing with a therapist, dietitian, physician, or other qualified professional. Depending on your individual needs, having the right clinical support in place may be an important part of your recovery.
My role is not to replace your treatment team. My role is to provide additional support, accountability, and recovery-focused coaching as you navigate life outside of those appointments.
With your permission, I can also collaborate with members of your treatment team when appropriate.

You don't need to prepare the "right" things to say.
We'll start with what's happening in your life right now.
Maybe there's a situation you're dreading. Maybe the eating disorder has been particularly loud. Maybe you had a difficult week. Maybe something went really well and you want to build on it.
We'll talk about it, get curious about what's underneath it, challenge the eating disorder when necessary, and figure out what your next recovery step looks like.
Sometimes that means problem-solving.
Sometimes it means practicing a recovery skill.
Sometimes it means accountability.
And sometimes it means having someone remind you that the uncomfortable choice can still be the right choice.
-
That depends on you and what kind of support you need.
Some people want more consistent support while they're actively working through challenging behaviors or situations. Others prefer to meet less frequently as they become more confident navigating recovery on their own.
We'll talk about your goals and determine what makes sense for you.
-
I wish there were a simple answer, but recovery isn't one-size-fits-all.
There is no magic number of sessions and no finish line that looks exactly the same for everyone.
Our work is about helping you build the skills and confidence to keep choosing recovery independently.
Ultimately, I don't want you to need me forever.
I want you to trust yourself enough to eventually take what you've learned and go live your life.
-
You don't have to arrive at coaching completely certain.
We can make room for the ambivalence and get curious about it.
You can want recovery and be afraid of recovery.
The question isn't whether you're scared.
The question is whether you're willing to explore what your life could look like if the eating disorder wasn't making the decisions.
-
You don't have to be under a certain weight, eating a certain number of calories, engaging in a certain number of behaviors, or "sick enough" by someone else's definition to deserve support.
If your relationship with food, exercise, or your body is interfering with your ability to live the life you want, that's enough reason to pay attention.
-
tart by reaching out to schedule a consultation.
We'll talk about your experience, what you're struggling with, what you're hoping to change, and what support could look like.
No judgment. No pressure. No expectation that you have recovery all figured out.
